Report Cards - Student report cards will be sent home next Friday, November 20th. Report cards will be emailed to parents through our student information system. Contact the main office if you do not receive your child's report card.
In-Person Student Health Concerns - We are closely following the IDPH guidelines for in-person students at all D62 schools. Children who have any of the Covid symptoms (fever 100.4 or higher, atypical onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, atypical cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea,
abdominal pain from unknown cause, atypical congestion/runny nose, atypical loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue from unknown cause and muscle or body aches) must stay home, or will be sent home immediately. If the symptomatic child has a sibling in the school/district, they will also have to stay home. In order for the symptomatic child to return to school, one of the following criteria have to be met:
- The child and siblings have to stay home for 10 days if not in contact with anyone testing positive for Covid or 14 days if in contact with someone testing positive for Covid.
- A doctor has to provide a note stating that the symptoms are not Covid related AND has to provide an alternative diagnosis.
- The symptomatic child must receive a negative Covid test that is provided to the school in writing prior to the return of that child and their siblings.
Emergency Days - Effective immediately, remote learning days will be used instead of emergency days. In the event that a district-wide remote learning day occurs due to weather-related school building closure, the classroom teacher will give your child directions to ensure that they engage in learning that day. Student attendance will be expected and taken on all district remote learning days. This will mean that emergency days will not be made up at the end of the year. The last day for student attendance this year will be Friday, May 28th.
Families In Need- We know that many of our families are struggling right now and our social workers are reaching out to those in need of support. Click here to view the letter if your family would benefit from additional resources at this time.
Remote Learning Support - See the tips below for suggestions to support children during remote learning:
· Prepare a quiet learning space to support your child’s focus on school.
· Organize learning materials to ensure they are easily accessible for your child.
· Post your child’s daily schedule in an easily viewable section of their quiet learning space.
· Always encourage your child to do their best in everything in which they are engaged.
· Ask for help from the teacher if your child needs more support to learn.
· Ensure your child maintains a respectful and kind demeanor with their teachers and peers every day.
