D62 Strategic Plan Process - District 62 has started a Strategic Planning process to determine the direction that we want to take our district over the next few years. Parents and community members are encouraged to attend an upcoming forum to help determine our future priorities. Forum dates are Wednesday, March 7 at Algonquin Middle School or Tuesday, March 13 at Chippewa Middle School, both starting at 7:30 p.m. Click here for more information on how you can get involved in this very important process.
Science Night - Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 28th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for the PTO Science Night. Steve Belliveau delightfully combines his university studies (B.S. Engineering) with his skills as a magician to present a show that captivates children and adults alike. This event is free for Cumberland families, click here to view the flyer. National Board Certification - Please join me in congratulating Jennifer Duncan (Vision Teacher) and Leah Strom (Former Cumberland teacher now D62 Instructional Coach) for going through the rigorous process to receive their National Board Certification. Jump Rope For Heart - Just a quick reminder that Jump Rope for Heart is next week at Cumberland! If you are raising money for the American Heart Association, please have it turned in (or submitted online) by next Friday, March 2.
PTO Meeting Special Guest - Dr. Paul Hertel, Interum D62 Superintendent, will be in attendance at our next PTO meeting on Monday, March 5th at 6:00 p.m. in the Cumberland LMC. Chippewa's March Mathness - On Wednesday, March 14th, Chippewa Middle School will be hosting "March Mathness", a family math night, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Chippewa. This is an event for the entire family and will include pizza, math related games, sports, crafts, and raffle prizes for attendees. They would like to extended the invitation to the families of future Chippewa Chiefs. All ages of Cumberland students and families are welcome to attend this event.
