Parent Survey - As part of the D62 Strategic Plan process, we invite you to participate in a brief survey so that we can learn more about how you receive information from the district. We value the connections we have with our families and are working hard to understand your needs and how we can improve. The survey should only take 2 minutes and will close on January 21st. Click for the English and Spanish versions of the survey.
D62 Equity Audit - Also as part of the Strategic Plan, all schools in District 62 will be taking part in an Equity Audit. Representatives from the Consortium For Educational Change (CEC) will be at Cumberland to interview our students, parents, and staff. The audit will take place at Cumberland on Thursday, January 30th. There are 15 slots for parent participation between 9:00 - 9:30 that day. If you would like to take part in this discussion and give your opinion about the school and district, please email Mrs. White at [email protected].
Flu Information - According to the CDC, we have widespread influenza in Illinois. Please remember that students need to be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication before they can return to school. Hand washing is the best way to prevent getting sick (except for immunization). Click here for more information from the nurse and click here for how to tell the difference between a cold and the flu and helpful tips.
Buona Beef Dine & Share - The next PTO Dine & Share is coming up and it's a two day event! On January 26th and 27th, Buona Beef (869 E. Rand Rd, Mount Prospect) will give back 20% of qualifying sales to our school. You must present a copy or screenshot of the flyer in order for our school to get credit. We hope to see you there!
Boys Running Program - We have the opportunity to offer the Let Me Run program for boys in the spring alongside Girls on the Run. Both programs combine fun activities with running to inspire, teach, and empower kids. Let Me Run is a 7-week program that meets twice a week directly after school for an hour and 15 minutes. It helps boys learn teamwork, build relationships, grow emotionally, and empower themselves and others. We need volunteers ASAP if we want to offer Let Me Run at Cumberland! It will be open to 4th and 5th grade boys with a possibility of offering it to 3rd grade boys if we have enough helpers. If you can volunteer one or two days a week for a seven week period, please let us know by emailing the PTO at [email protected].
Sweetheart Family Formal - Save the date for the PTO Sweetheart Family Formal on Friday, February 7th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. More information will be sent home soon. If you can volunteer an hour or two, please click here to sign up.
