Halloween Bash 2015 was a huge success!!! It was wonderful to see our families have fun and enjoy this time together. The PTO would like to thank Danielle Young for the massive amount of donations she collected, The Wiley family for the awesome 'haunted jail', and Joseph Pabon , (a.k.a. "DJ Payback"), for providing our entertainment. We would also like to thank Mrs. White who was just as enthusiastic as we were, agreed to sit in jail several times throughout the night, and helped bring the school together in celebration. We can't forget the number of families that baked for our first bake sale and everyone who donated time to volunteer before, during, and after the event. Together, we did a fantastic job, raising nearly $2,000 for Cumberland! Way to go parents, teachers, and students. Thank you for your amazing support and participation. We can't wait to do do it again next year!
International Night will take place on Friday, November 13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. International night is an evening dedicated to celebrating the cultures represented at Cumberland with local food and cultural crafts for the whole family. Please look for a flyer in your child's folder this week. We ask for a small donation at the door to cover plates, napkins, drinks, etc. and in exchange provide a buffet of local food from International restaurants in and around Des Plaines. Families are encouraged to share their heritage with a pot-luck dessert table. Be sure to identify any peanut or tree-nut ingredients. We look forward to seeing you on November 13!
