The Giving Table - We will again have the Giving Table available during Parent Teacher Conferences. This table will contain gently used children's clothing, coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Feel free to stop by when you are attending your conference and take whatever items you need. If you have gently used children's clothing or outerwear that others might be able to use, feel free to leave the items on the table.
Parent Survey - We would greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to take the 5Essentials Parent Survey by clicking here. The results will be reported on the Cumberland State School Report Card. If you have more than one child at Cumberland, you may take the survey for each child. The School Report Card rating we receive is determined by the number of parents who take the survey. So far, 27 Cumberland parents have taken the survey, please help us reach our minimum goal of 150. Turn in the completed flyer, or email Gloria Carrillo at [email protected] with your child's name and teacher after taking the survey, and your child will receive 2 Super Raffle Tickets.
Report Card Guidelines - Report cards for the 1st trimester will be coming home with students today. The 3rd-5th grade scores will look different since students will no longer be receiving letter grades. Click here to view the D62 Standards Based Grading Guidelines.
Read To Succeed Program - The Six Flags Read to Succeed forms went home in backpacks this week. Students who read for 6 hours and return the form to their teacher will receive a free ticket to Six Flags. The deadline for turning in the completed form will be Friday, January 18th.
Box Top Winners - Congratulations to Mrs. Zozulia’s students for bringing in the most Box Tops for the 1st Trimester. Their class has won a special activity paid for by our PTO. In 2nd Place is Mrs. Gierszewicz's morning kindergartners. Congratulations to both classrooms, keep those Box Tops coming! So far this year, we have received $320 for the PTO to support our children.

Tree Lighting Ceremony - We hope you can join us for the Des Plaines Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony (Metropolitan Square - 647 Metropolitan Way) on Friday, December 7th starting at 4:00 p.m. This is a fun and free event for the entire family. Click here to view the details.

- Gift Cards For The Holidays - Back by popular demand is the ShopWithScripts program (replacing Manna Scripts). Order gift cards for the holidays and the PTO will receive 5% in return. Attach a check and return the form to the school office or your child's teacher by December 7th. Gift cards will be available the week of December 17th for pickup in the Cumberland office. If you authorize the gift cards to go home with your child, please check the box at the bottom of the form. Click here to view the form that will be coming home in backpacks soon.
- Do you shop on Amazon? - If so, you could help our PTO by making your purchase through smile.amazon.com. The site is identical to the Amazon you are used to. By selecting Cumberland, 0.5% of your purchase will go back to the school PTO.
- Save the Date for Movie Night - November 30th at 6:00 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. The feature show will be "Incredibles 2!"
- Dine & Share Thank You - We would like to thank all of the Cumberland families and staff who came out to support the Dine & Share this week at Salerno's. Our PTO earned $117.69, which is 15% of the total orders. Thank you so much for your continued support!
