Families In Need - The Cumberland staff is collecting money for our families in need. If you would like to donate, any amount would be greatly appreciated. The money collected will be used to purchase Walmart gift cards to help our families during the holidays. Send your cash donation in an envelope marked "Families In Need" to the office. On behalf of our families, we thank you in advance for helping to make their holidays brighter.
Student Council Food Drive - The Cumberland Student Council will be hosting a canned food drive next week from December 6 - 10 to support the Des Plaines Self-Help Pantry and those in need this holiday season. Boxes will be set up on the bench across from the office. See the Flyer for the items that are most needed.
Winter Gear Closet - Cumberland will be hosting a free Winter Gear Closet containing children's coats, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, scarves, and socks. The Closet will be located in the front vestibule outside the office from 8:00-4:00 on Monday, Dec. 13 - Thursday, Dec. 16. If you would like to donate new or gently used winter items, send them to school next week (December 6 - 10). All Cumberland families are welcome to take anything they need from the Winter Gear Closet. Please help spread the word.
Kid's Pantry - If your child is in need of new or gently used clothing, toys, books, games, and other items, you can visit the Kid's Pantry (400 E. Gregory Street, Mount Prospect) on Wednesdays from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Donations are also being accepted and can be dropped off anytime at this address (behind the church). November Positive Behavior Referrals - We are so proud of our Positive Behavior Referral recipients who have received this recognition from a Cumberland staff member. November Cougar Crew - New starting this month, we are recognizing students who are consistently doing an exemplary job of following the Cougar Code during lunch recess and specials. Emergency Day Choice Boards - Next Thursday, December 9 every Cumberland student will come home with a bag containing 3 days of Emergency Day Choice Boards. These packets are to be kept at home in the rare case that we have an emergency day and your child is not able to access the teacher's remote instruction. Please keep these items in an easily accessible place in your home.
