Traffic Circle Construction Continues - Starting Monday, March 18th (weather permitting) the construction will continue on the Cumberland traffic circle near our school. There will be full closures of access from Golf Road to Wolf Road north and State Street as well as a reduction of Golf Road to one lane in each direction. The work is expected to be complete by the end of November. Click here the view the detour map. This project will likely cause significant delays so please plan accordingly when picking up and dropping off children at school. Bus/cab delays before and after school are also likely so your patience is appreciated.
Paint Night Tonight - We hope you can join us this evening (Friday, March 15th) at 6:00 p.m. for PTO Family Paint Night. The cost is $7.00 per participant and includes an 8" x 10" canvas to paint and take home at the end of the evening. Parents must supervise children throughout the event. State Testing Window - Students in grades 3-5 will be taking the Illinois Assessment for Readiness (IAR). This is a new state-wide assessment that replaces PARCC. Cumberland students will be testing from Monday, April 8th through Monday, April 15th. Make up sessions will take place on Tuesday, April 16th through Thursday, April 18th. Cumberland Dentist Visit - A dentist and dental hygienist from Preferred Dentistry Associates in Evanston will be at Cumberland on Wednesday, April 17th. They will conduct free dental screenings, cleanings and fluoride sealants for our students. If you would like your child to participate, fill out the attached form and return it to the health office. Family Math Scavenger Hunt - Hold the date of Thursday, April 25th for the Family Math Scavenger Hunt. We will be offering three staggered start times of 6:00, 6:20 and 6:40 p.m. More information will be coming home after spring break in your child's backpack.
Early Dismissal - A friendly reminder that the students will be dismissed at 3:15 next Friday, March 22nd for our final day before spring break.
