Recognition For No Behavior Referrals - New this year, students who have not received a behavior referral for the entire trimester will receive a recognition letter as well as a "You're PAWsome" key chain in their report card envelope. The key chains were generously provided by the Cumberland PTO. We are so proud of our students who consistently make good choices and follow the Cougar Code. We hope your child is among those receiving the letter for their hard work. We will be sending home a letter and key chain each trimester for qualifying students, so even if your child didn't earn one this time, they can for the 2nd and 3rd trimester.
The Giving Table - We will again have the Giving Table available during Parent Teacher Conferences. This table will contain gently used children's clothing, coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Feel free to stop by when you are attending your conference and take whatever items you need. If you have gently used children's clothing or outerwear that others might be able to use, feel free to leave the items on the table.
Tree Lighting Ceremony - We hope you can join us for the Des Plaines Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony (Metropolitan Square - 647 Metropolitan Way) on Friday, December 1st starting at 4:00 p.m. This is a fun and free event for the entire family. Click here to view the details.
Box Tops Total - So far this school year you have helped us earn $441.20 from collecting Box Tops! This money goes directly back to our students and helps the PTO fund the amazing items that our students can "purchase" with their Paw Prints at the Paw Market. Please continue to clip those Box Tops, they truly add up and help our school. Thank you very much for your contributions so far!!!
Movie Night Date Change - Mark your calendar for Friday, December 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for the PTO Movie Night featuring Captain Underpants! This event will take place in the Cumberland gym and PJs and sleeping bags are welcome!
PTO Meeting Reminder - We hope you can join us for the next meeting on Monday, December 4th at 6:00 p.m. in the LMC. All parents are welcome and free childcare will be available.
After School Enrichment Classes - Last year the PTO was able to offer after school art and chess enrichment classes for the students. If parents are interested in having these programs (or others) again this year, we will need two parent volunteers per class once a week to be at the school. We've had some interest but still not enough volunteers. If you would be willing to help, please email the PTO at pto.cumberland@gmail.com.
