Panera Dine & Share - Please consider eating out with your family and friends at Panera (1518 Market Street, Des Plaines) on Wednesday, January 23rd to support the PTO. The event will run from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and 20% of the proceeds will go back to the Cumberland PTO. You must present a copy or screenshot of the flyer in order for our school to get credit.
Flu Information - According to the CDC, we have widespread influenza in Illinois. Please remember that students need to be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication before they can return to school. Hand washing is the best way to prevent getting sick (except for immunization). Click here for more information from the nurse and click here for how to tell the difference between a cold and the flu and helpful tips.
Paw Market Donations Needed - Our Paw Market is an event that happens twice per year (December and May) and is an opportunity for our students to "spend" their hard earned Paw Prints. Paw Prints are earned through making good choices and following the Cougar Code (Being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and a Buddy). The Paw Market is very expensive to stock and is paid through PTO funds and donations. If you work for a company that donates, or have new items at home, such as toys, stuffed animals, trinkets, soaps/lotions, jewelry, candles, etc. please consider a donation to our Paw Market. The students love this event and we want to make sure it is able to continue for years to come. Click here to view pictures from our most recent Paw Market in December.
Box Top Winners - We would like to congratulate Mrs. Zozulia's ELS class for bringing in the highest ratio of Box Tops for the first trimester. In second place is Mrs. Gierszewicz's AM Kindergarten class. The PTO will sponsor a fun activity for the first place winners for their effort. So far this year we have raised $340 from Box Top donations so please keep them coming so we reach our goal of $1,000! Click here to view the list of products that contain Box Tops.
Parent Volunteers Needed - We are still looking for parent volunteers for our upcoming school-wide activities. Our next big event is the 2nd Trimester PBIS Celebration taking place on Thursday, February 28th from 1:00-3:30. We have other fun events as well and volunteering is a great way to experience the wonderful things happening for children at Cumberland. Click here to sign-up.
